Banks and other financial institutions usually require a licensed appraiser to provide an appraisal report to show the value of real estate">commercial real estate before issuing commercial mortgages.
Other reasons for an appraisal include market value determination, rental value determination, reconstruction value determination (Article 7: 960 of the Dutch Civil Code valuation), business termination, business transfer, tax matters and WOZ disputes with the municipality.
