Founded to achieve specific goals. The purpose of the foundation is described in the articles of association. Foundations have no members and are established by notarial deed. The directors of a foundation are not responsible for the debts of the foundation. If the foundation has to pay corporation tax, anti-abuse laws apply and in some cases directors can be held liable (see BV). The foundation must be registered with the Chamber of Commerce.
