GlossaryLeasehold

What means Leasehold?

Leasehold is an ownership title for real estate in Indonesia. You own the property for a certain period of time, after which you transfer the property to the former owner. Often 10, 20 or 25 years is used.

It is important that it is certainly not renting. You actually own the property and you are therefore obliged to pay property tax on the property. The land, on the other hand, belongs to the old owner.
